A comprehensive review of documents related to public health emergency preparedness and response
The Jordan Center for Disease Control (JCDC) is currently undertaking a comprehensive Mapping and Review initiative, assessing policies, strategies, legislations, guidelines, standard operating procedures, and assessments related to Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Resilience (PHEPR). The global response to the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for a more effective and coordinated Health Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Resilience (HEPR) architecture, addressing the fragmented nature of current governance, systems, and financial mechanisms. The aftermath of COVID-19 has spurred urgency in strengthening global preparedness for health emergencies, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts at national, regional, and global levels with broad stakeholder participation. The Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response (PHEPR) encompasses measures for response, recovery, and emergency planning to reduce the short and long-term impacts of hazards on population health. The study aims to evaluate and enhance public health response capacity by connecting the health sector with agriculture, foreign affairs, justice, environment, commerce, and intelligence, fostering collaboration and coordination for comprehensive health emergency preparedness and security.
