Aligned with the strategic plan of the Jordan Center for Diseases Control, the leading national public health institute in Jordan, and within the tasks of the Disease Prevention and Control Directorate, a national project was implemented, "Mapping and Reviewing the Existing Disease Prevention Policies, Strategies, Legislation, Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures related to Epidemics, Communicable and Zoonotic Diseases, Within One Health, in addition to Health-Related Environmental Threats."

This project focuses on a comprehensive range of public health areas, including epidemics, communicable diseases to zoonoses, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) within the One Health approach, in addition to other health-related issues, like respiratory diseases, vaccination, Infection prevention and control, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), healthcare-associated infections (HAI), risk communication and community engagement (RCCE), and health-related environmental threats.

The primary objective of this comprehensive assessment is to furnish public health decision-makers with robust, evidence-based insights. These insights are intended to inform and guide the development of effective public health policies and strategies, ultimately enhancing Jordan's capacity to prevent and control diseases effectively. This initiative is a step forward in strengthening public health resilience and responsiveness in the face of diverse and evolving health challenges.
